Welcome!

One definition of an economist is somebody who sees something happen in practice and wonders if it will work in theory.
— Ronald Reagan

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at BYU. I am primarily a theorist, with specific interests in public finance, political economy, monetary theory, and game theory.

Carefully specified models can provide useful insight into how economic systems work and how public policy affects their workings. Good theory is a necessary part of good economics.
